Spin Cycle: Oh, the happiness every other monday

Sprite's Keeper (the first blog I ever read-she was the gateway drug) hosts the Spin Cycle every Friday.  Go see her for more great products, services and fun.

Spin Cycle: "...And I can't live without it!"

The thing I can't live without?  Our wonderful, wonderful cleaning service.   The time and frustration that $98 dollars every two weeks saves us is worth every single penny.  It takes our wonderful team 2-3 hours to do all of the heavy cleaning that would take us an entire weekend.

I am a very detail oriented person.  I could spend an entire afternoon cleaning our master bathroom.  In fact, I have.  Including scrubbing the grout on ALL the tile with a toothbrush just to have the dog come in with his muddy feet the next morning.  Yep, there were tears.  Don't get me stared on the how long it takes me to vacuum the couches.  Yes, the couches need vacuumed, golden retriever hair is pervasive in our house.  Especially on anything Tonka can rub himself on.

The cleaning service has improved my marriage.  We both work, we both clean.  Except well I can be bossy and want things done a certain way.  There were fights over sinks and toilets and kitchens.  No way was I doing all of it by myself though, I am stubborn like that.

Oh, the joy to leave the house for work every other Monday and come home to a clean house.  It's like magic...that we pay for...but still magic.

Seriously? My blog was your first? I feel so guilty now! (And off subject, we do have a Dyson, the Animal or the purple one, had it for 5 years, and we love it, but it does not steam the floors. The Hoover I will gladly cheat on the Dyson for just that reason.)
When I was pregnant and John didn't want to take on the heavy cleaning which actually made me happy, we hired a service which was wonderful. I really do miss those days of coming home and only having to relax knowing someone else vacuumed under our couches. Maybe the next time we're expecting..
Great Spin, you're linked!

Does your cleaning service work in FL???

I love the name of you blog! Pretty much sums up motherhood on certain days.

It does sound magical!

My sister got me cleaning service for a few months after my third baby was born. I didn't like the lady who came, though. She was not very thorough--one week she didn't even mop the kitchen, and that's the dirtiest part of the house. Also, I had to be there when she cleaned, because I had a newborn, so it was kind of uncomfortable. Maybe if I could leave and come home to a clean house I would like it better. That, and if they actually cleaned well....

Wow. I'm envious. Of course, I'm happy for your joys and successes...but I'm also envious.

Thanks for the spin!

I really really wish I could have a cleaning service. I have a good friend that has a cleaning service come and I ask her to tell me all the wonderful things they do to her floors and toilets and windows. I live vicariously through her.

Thanks for stopping by. Jen Cohen is good people and one of my best bloggy friends. Also? Totally know my little thing for The Shaun is unconventional. I get you about Johnny Depp though. I look at him and think...whah????

Oh, I love my cleaning people. They've been coming for three and a half years, since I was pregnant with Oscar. They are like family. Family that I pay to clean. Whatever, I love them.

Um, yeah, so I'm here again. I'll take you up on your snow-off. I totally thought of you and another Colorado gal I know, Shan, when I posted that "take that, Colorado" line. I almost said, "Suck it, Colorado," but I thought that would be taking it too far. I mean, we're already awesomer (it's a word, look it up - no don't I liked) with our snowfall and our...well, actually that might be just about it.

So, um, can I come stay at your house while I stalk Shaun white at the Winter X Games next year? You don't have to answer me now. Sleep on it. :)
